Life science Flash animations & Mechanical animations using CAD

Greetings!
While looking for resources about integrating videos into the science curriculum, I found two I thought were noteworthy for my team. The first one is "Animated Engines" for Jack and anyone else who has an interest in or works with CAD, kids or other mechanical or moving objects. Matt Keveney links you to how he created the animations. Let me know if this is useful to you, Jack!

For Lindsey, because you mentioned you are always looking for resources for your 4th graders, I found these two sites. As I've said in previous comments, I love using Flash animations to teach or reinforce science concepts. I've just got to keep working with Flash, because I want to create my own!

Thanks for the engine website. I'll definetly use this one. I a few weeks, the Solid Modeling kids will start reverse engineering an 8 hp lawnmower engine. I'll put up some samples of their work as it progresses.

Hi Diane. I have a cool website to share with you. I know that you are a science teacher, and I thought this was fascinating: http://blogs.abcnews.com/scienceandsociety/2008/09/report-from-the.html

The link will take you to "Report From the Arctic" sponsored by ABC News. Click on the NASA Quicktime animation and watch it as the ice disappears from January through September.

Hi Michelle,
Thank you for this link--yes, I'm interested in planetary issues and climate change. This time lapse video is a good one to share with high school AP environmental studies students.
Thank you for thinking of me!

I took a look at the resources you posted for Lindsay's 4th graders and noticed that they even a link for 5-6 year olds that would go great with my curriculum. It went from that age on up. Thanks for sharing.
