Applications of Blogs to my practice

A blog format is perfect for students to fulfill Georgia Performance standards. So much of GPS for science can be addressed using blogs--from collaborating on experiements, to developing logical arguments around controversial issues in science, to allowing my students to have more transparency to consider and be supported by their peer's work and ideas. I would hope this would serve to increase my students' confidence and belief that they CAN DO science!

For example a science blog would ideally serve these standards for SCSh6: Students will communicate scientific investigations and information clearly. A Blog would provide a platform for the students to: Write clear, coherent laboratory reports related to science investigations.

This is one idea I have for using blogs in the environmental science class. MEDT 7464 has given me many more!
